The Rebel Miles Photography Blog is my opportunity to answer questions readers or clients have asked. I also use the blog platform to discuss various methods of shooting, specific equipment and personal techniques.
Most recently, I have begun to discuss specific images I have taken and the the process behind that single photograph. Basically, the method to my madness. I’ve always been a fan of images that are “Void of Color” (a debatable title for sure) also know as Monochrome or Black and White. Taking images in that way instantly changes the feel without question. Happy images in color gain an entirely new sense of depth when lacking in color. It’s quite amazing actually… So, I use my free time, limited as it may be, to describe in some detail how I arrived at that specific image.
Obviously Real Estate shoots, events, etc. don’t lend themselves to as much opportunity for creativity that the either of the images below do as an example.
I have also been deciding if I should be writing about specific locations I have visited during my shoots. Since I live in Charlevoix I travel a great deal for almost all of my shoots. I don’t mind traveling at all and in fact enjoy the opportunity to get on the road to meet new people for their shoot, whatever it may be that day. So, my goal is to write more about those travels just to give anyone that stumbles across this page some insight to a locale they may have not had the opportunity to visit yet.
Photography and everything that comes with it fascinates me, from the science behind the camera through to the opportunity to meet people I would never have met if I were not a photographer.
